Ms. Oyer's social studies classes at Boca Raton Middle School

Recently when JR4OT ran the 2^nd Annual DVD’s for Troops effort, of the 219 total Season 2 DVDs donated, 21 of them came from a middle school classroom in Boca Raton, Florida, where teacher Susan Oyer challenged her students to help make a difference.  Through money earned by doing chores and hunting for spare change on schoolroom floors, they raised nearly $450 for the cause.

Continuing the civics lessons by supporting the troops at Boca Middle

Using their special relationships with cast and crew of the twice cancelled television show Jericho, the amazing children who run Jericho4kids have helped once again.

The Jericho4Kids site (www.Jericho4Kids.com), created for and by young Jericho fans, raised $267 for the DVD’s for Troops effort through a raffle of autographed show memorabilia.  In addition, they will be holding their second annual giveway entitled “Shelbys Fabulous Great Giveaway” which will raffle off even more show memorabilia amongst those that donated to the cause.  The kids here are no strangers to supporting efforts for the troops.  Last year a similar auction raised over $200 for DVD shipments to the troops.
